Me

I have passions. Sometimes I allow them to consume me. The darkness is always whispering silkily in my ear, tempting me.

Dance, writing and reading...smelling The Boy...soul food to me. I am as comfortable trekking around in nature, communing with the universal spirits, as I am on a night out in heels, communing with alcoholic spirits.

As the eldest daughter, I had to stand in for the son my father never had. I can handle a firearm, change a tyre, panelbeat, talk about rpm's and bph, ride a bike, race a car and manage most of my own DIY. On the occasions I got to be 'just a girl', I went to finishing school, to learn the finer points of etiquette. Hopefully I can pass most of these talents on to my daughter/s one day.
Some say I'm well rounded, others say I'm confused. Whatever. I am a little crazy and passionately passionate. I think you certainly need to be a little crazy to overcome the challenges life throws at you. I like to think that my sense of humour and love for life balances out the crazy...but maybe that's wishful thinking.
I'm a survivor of an "enforced-journeys-of-self-discovery" experience, and have come out on the other side able to say that I am now a woman of substance. Well, substances would probably be more appropriate, but let's steer clear of that for the moment.

It appears that I have come through reasonably unscathed, and grown slightly wiser. I am starting to live life to the fullest again. I'm also more responsible with the emotions of others and happier within myself than I have been in years. My confidence is almost all there, and I'm attracting like-minded people to my life. I know that all good things will come easy in my life from here on in. I still have a long way to go on my journey (it never really ends), but I have people who love me to hold my hand when I need it. Thankfully my internal balance works just fine for the most part, if you don't count me falling off my 6 inch heels every once in a while.

I'm an aspiring writer. I'm still only brave enough to draw from my own experience, but I'm getting better at letting my alter-ego take over. I hope I can move you in some way. Even if all you do is laugh at me. Life can be rough, we need all the laughs we can get.
